Creating a space for it that you can arrange with your favourite plants, candles or even imagery can make your practice more inviting. Aiming for 15 -20 minutes 2-3 times a week to start with will be sufficient to start seeing the benefits on your awareness, thoughts, attention, sleep, etc.

Besides, you do not need any apps to practice mindfulness. Setting a timer on your phone and some relaxing music will be enough. There are some free apps like Plum Village and Petit Bamboo that offer some guided meditations if you’d prefer.

Lastly, aiming for 2 or 3 times a week is great. However, sometimes our busy lives may not accommodate this. Practising self-compassion is key, if you do one day instead of three this will be one day more than zero. Keep persevering and you will see how gradually, mindfulness becomes a part of your daily life.
